My wifes mother (Janis) was adopted and her birth mother was Gladys Mercy Turner. We have found this information through the adoption agency in Connecticut. His birth father was Catholic but he did not practice
Was discharged from the Army in good health, achieved sergeant
Did not graduate from high school
He was living in Connecticut 1946 - 1948

Approximately 175
Dark brown hair
When they were dating Gladys had two other children (young) from a previous marriage where the husband died in WWII in 1945.
These two never married.

His name "might" be Eli or Elijah Pfieffer (spelling?)
Gladys moved to Reno, NV after the adoption was final, the children remember him visiting which would have been abt 1948
