Classification: Query
Surnames: Saksa, Ledvak, Bartek, Sekerak, Pavluvcik
Stefan Ledvak b. Brezovica Slovakia (?) abt. 1866 m. Juliana Saksa abt. 1887/88 at St. Joseph's church in Bridgeport CT by a Fr. Jarieus.
Andrew Ledvak b. abt. 1864 m. Catherina Weresfri (? spelling) abt. 1887/88, also St. Joseph's -- also Fr. Jarieus.

All four listed their birthplaces as Hungary. I am assuming Stefan & Andrew were brothers.

Stefan became a naturalized US citizen in Bridgeport CT on October 27, 1890. His birthplace was listed as Austria.

Juliana Saksa Ledvak's parents were George & ? Saksa. She had two or more siblings -- the two known are: Mary Saksa (younger sister), who married a Mr. Bartek and settled in Wallingford CT and Anna Saksa (not sure if she was younger or older), who married a Mr. Sekerak and settled in Bridgeport CT.

Juliana's father George, may have worked at the Royal stables in Vienna, Austria. It is said that the Saksas emigrated to the US to give the children more opportunities for a good life.

What leads me to believe that Stefan Ledvak is from Brezovica is that I have come across an Anna Ledvak who emigrated to Bridgeport CT with her husband John Pavluvcik around 1907. They were from Brezovica and were married there. Unfortunately, Anna died at a young age, in 1916 in Bridgeport.

Stephan & Juliana had eight kids, seven of whom were born in Bridgeport. The seven born in Bridgeport were: Helen, Emanuel (Emil), Stephen, Irene, Frances, Martha (still alive at 99!) and Julia. The eighth & youngest child, was my grandmother, Marguerite (Margaret), who was born in Scranton PA on August 7, 1911. Not sure when the family moved to Scranton. In Scranton, the family attended church at Holy Family. My great-grandfather, Stefan, who was a piano-maker & cabinet-maker by trade, helped build Holy Family.

Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? Thank you
