I've just recently became interested in the Hendricks surname when my Family Finder tests had three remote cousin lines that all had a common ancestor of Adolphus Hendrick, born about 1685 in Virginia. One of the lines was for Moses, born 1757/60 in Virginia, who was a Revolutionary War Soldier for South Carolina, and who died in the Pickens District, SC, on 12 Jan 1837. I don't know if the question has been settled, but I see Moses' ancestry has been the subject of some controversy. From my DNA matches, I believe we can say that Adolphus was Moses' grandfather. Adolphus' son Moses, born about 1730, would be the father.

The two other lines that I have a remote cousin relationship to came through Adolphus' daughter Betty who married Charles Bostick and daughter Jane who married Joseph Robinson (Robertson).

I thought I'd pass this on in case someone might be interested.
