My father is Joseph Harold Cornelius. He was born 2/28/1936 in Ft. Worth, Texas. The story goes that when he was just about 2-3 years of age, his mother was either very ill or she passed away and the father couldn't take care of all the kids, so he allowed my father's babysitters (Foncie and Lyla Cornelius) to adopt him. He believes he has at least one brother and a sister, but we have no information on his birth name. I believe the adoption occurred in Houston, Texas. Both his adoptive parents have passed now and he is okay with me trying to find his birth family. One of my sons had to be tested for Cystic Fibrosis when he was younger because we didn't know familial history on Dad's side, so I would really like to fill in some blanks and see if I have Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, etc.
