I have two lines of Aitken's my great grandmother's(1834) family was also Aitken. Her's was from Motherwell, daughter of George Aitken and Ann Smith, My Greatgrandfather's (1829) line begins with Robert Aitken and Janet Main(s) marriage banns of 1795 in Slamannan Midlothian, Scotland. My gggrandfather Robert and his 9 siblings : Mary, Janet, Jean James, Margaret, Thomas, David, John and Beatrix all born between 1796 and 1820. Robert's wife (my gggrandmother) Annie Aitken (1834) had 4 siblings, Jane, James, Isobella and William all born between 1834 and 1841.
