Ewan Onofrejiw was recorded as owning 161 acres of land in the early 1900s in Hyas, Saskatchewan, Canada. We believe he may have departed from what is now the Western Ukraine, near the border with Poland. He could have taken a ship from Hamburg with his wife around 1899, perhaps landing in Halifax. In Canada, he changed his name to John Onofryton, and his wife became Joyce. They had seven children--all named Onofryton. Thus far, all efforts to track him have failed. We'd like to identify the village from which he departed, and locate relatives, if possible. We'd appreciate any assistance. Thank you.
