"Martinsburgh gazette. Married--In Williamsborough, North Carolina, Major Francis SMITH, of Prince Edward County, Va., to Miss Charlotte B. BRODIE. This marriage agreed upon 31 years ago at Camden SC, but the war separated them and each had thought the other dead until they met accidentally recently. Publication Friday, August 2, 1811.

From wills & other records, Charlotte Brodie appears to be of this family:
1st gen: John Brodie m.1722 Hampton VA Martha SCLATER.
2nd gen: James Brodie spouse unknown.
3rd gen: Alexander Brodie m.__?__ of SC.
4th gen: James Brodie d.1782 York Co VA & sister
Charlotte Brodie b.abt 1761 m.27 Jun 1811 Francis SMITH.

Charlotte Brodie was a seamstress; a school teacher in 1804; established a female academy in Williamsboro NC 1807.
