John R SHREINER age 32 was present at the 1850 Elkhart Co, IN census as SHRINER, with wife "Mrs." SHRINER age 30, children Mary age 10, Catherine age 8, Michel [sic] age 6, and Henry age 8 mos. Mrs. Shreiner died shortly after, and John married 2nd Mary White, a widow in Cass Co, MI. They had a son Leroy, and then John died. My direct ancestor Henry went to Barry Co, MO with his guardian Daniel GRAY.

John had a brother George who also lived in Elkhart Co. They came from Lancaster Co, PA.
