Re: Phillips Family of Rusagonish
Hi Gloria: I have been trying for years to find the parents of Frances Phillips, born about 1812 in NB. She married Joseph Weir/Wier/Wear in 1828 in Lincoln, NB. It has been suggest to me that she may be a descendant of Thomas Phillips d 1809 in Lincoln, NB or Zopher Phillips d 1823 in Lincoln, NB. I'm not sure these are your Phillips but looks like they may be. If you can shed any light on just who the parents of Frances Phillips was it would be much appreciated. Unfortunately I have nothing on the Phillips family at this point but do have info on the children of Joseph and Frances which I would be more than happy to share.

Re: Phillips Family of Rusagonish
Hi Keith, I don't have any proof but I would think that by Frances birthyear she would be a daughter of Zopher Bedford Phillips,SR. b.c.1770 d. 11/10/1823 & Ann*Nancy*??. I have their male children listed but no daughters. Zopher Bedford Phillips,JR was not married until 1819 so it wouldn't have been him. I would almost bet that Frances is a daughter of Zopher, SR. They all lived in Lincoln, Sunbury Co. I will go through all of my binders at home on the weekend to see if I can find anything at all. Just a side note Frances was a name of a daughter b. 1861 to Zopher, JR. 's son John Phillips. I went to a Phillips Family Reunion in about 1987 in Rusagonis, New Brunswick and I couldn't believe how many relatives I had their. If there was any way you could visit the area you would find many Phillips still living their. I wish I had of asked questions about my family history but at that time my children were small and I wasn't doing my family tree. There were many elder Phillips men their, it was awesome. If I ever get back to New Brunswick Rusagonis will be one of my main stops.

Re: Phillips Family of Rusagonish
Hi Gloria: Thank you for the response, I have been looking for the parents of Frances for years with no luck, so any thing you could come up with would be very much appreciated. I'm sure if she isn't the daughter of Zopher Sr. she is a close relative of some sort. Thanks again.

Re: Phillips Family of Rusagonish
Hi Gloria, If you are still out their I am descended from David Phillips and Sarah Nason of the Little Lakes area. I have confirmed yDNA tests that connects me to Thomas Phillips, but I have not found the connection from David Phillips to Thomas. Davids brothers were Moses, Isreal and Aaron. If you have any info and are willing to share my email address is uphillips@mediacomcc.com. Thanks, Uriah

Re: Phillips Family of Rusagonish
I know this post was from 11 years ago, but I'm from Rusagonis still have a house there and a Phillips. I've been digging into my family history because I only have my grandfather left and once he's gone I will have no further info on my branch of the Phillips family. I am a descendent of Zopher Bedford, John Phillips, Sherman Sathial Phillips, Sherman Phillips Jr, then my grandfather John Gilmore Phillips, who still lives in Rusagonis. My mom Barbara Phillips got married (now a Doten) but she has her brothers, Steven Phillips which had a girl, Sara Phillips, and other brother, Gerald Phillips, had no children so we're at the end of the line. I actually have portraits of John and his wife and, son, Sherman Sathial and his wife hanging in my living room. I have difficulty remembering Sherman's siblings names but I know you're a descendent of Lorne which I'm assuming is his brother and I can get the other 10 siblings names easily, but as far as his children ( my grandfather, John Gilmore Phillips and his sisters) I can give you names of everyone from their generation down off of the top of my head because again I'm at the bottom being only 17 and we've all separated now but we are all from Rusagonis. I know this may be confusing because I worded it weird but I can explain further if you wish to email me. It sounds like there's not much but we have a huge chunk of the Phillips and we actually hosted the Reunions at my grandparents lake house outside of Rusagonis until 2009 im not entirely sure when hosting it at the lake house became a yearly thing because they used to switch off who's house they'd host it at, but the same people went every year so you had to of met my grandfather who is the eldest at the reunions now out of who attends.
