I'm looking for information on my gg grandfather, James Gross. Our family information shows that he was b. 20 mi E. of Murphy on Shooting Creek, NC on 16 Jan 1817 to Thomas Gross. Thomas was believed to be b. 25 Apr 1753 in Germany. He's believed to have served in the Continental Army and the war of 1812. It's believed that he died when he was 106 years old (abt 1859).

James married Stacy Garlan(d). He died 16 Dec 1908 in David City, NE.

Can anyone help me obtain info or verification on these people?
