I am a bit confused. I sent the official forms in for a search for my great grandparents, Charles Nelson & Mary Comer's marriage. I asked that the search be done betwen 1894 and 1896. I received a letter saying the marriage was not found.

After I sent the request, I spoke to a cousin who happened to be doing identical research. This cousin went down to the Archives himself and got the marriage certificate, dated 1895.

Now I have questions as to whether the rest of the searches I requested are valid. I received several NOT FOUND letters and though I paid for an extra copy or two of the certificates requested, I was informed that I would be getting no money back. So far I have received one good certificate as well as one from someone with a totally different name and date of birth.
