JOHN SMITH, SR. (ABRAHAM2, JACOB1) was born 6 August 1754 in Amherst, VA, and died 7 April 1841 in Leighton, Lawrence Co., AL. He married MARY WHITEHEAD Abt. 1781, daughter of JOHN WHITEHEAD and SARAH BURCHER. She was born 1756, and died 22 February 1817 in Leighton, Lawrence Co., AL.
