2003 BOBO Reunion

The 2003 Reunion of the BOBO Family Assn. will be in Athens, OH, 19-22 June. While this is a Bobo Reunion any members of the collateral families and friends are invited. Rooms have been reserved for Thursday, 19 June, to Sunday, 22 June 2003 at the AmeriHost Inn in Athens. Accommodations instructions are below.
Here are some preliminary plans in brief.
Thursday, June 19--Arrival Day.
Those arriving early may want to do research at the Athens County Historical Society and Museum (ACHSM) at 695 Court St. in Athens. Parking is available in the lot adjacent to their library and museum. Research also can be done in the Ohio University Library, the Athens County Courthouse and the Public Library. Those who arrive on Thursday will dine together that evening at an adjacent restaurant. Details later.

Friday, June 20 – A Continental Breakfast is available for those registered at the AmeriHost Inn and a Bob Evans Restaurant is adjacent to the Inn. After breakfast we meet at 9 a.m. at the ACHS Museum for announcements and to review the BOBO Family Tree CD prepared by Bob BOBO. Those desiring can research at the Museum or visit other sites. We will have packets of maps, cemetery locations, etc. available. Lunch on own.
For those wishing to research in Vinton County, the county seat is McArthur. There is an excellent genealogy room in the Westcoat Library in McArthur and the courthouse is there.
Casual dining together in the evening at a local restaurant.

Saturday, June 21 – Continental Breakfast at the AmeriHost. Visits to family cemeteries in Athens and Vinton Counties and other places of family interest. We plan auto caravans to some of the cemeteries. Informal dinner together in the evening.

Sunday, June 22 -- Meeting at the Scottish Rite Temple with visiting at 11 a.m. and covered dish luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Bring family information and a covered dish to share. Beverages, cups, eating utensils will be furnished as a part of the registration fee. We will have reports on Bobo Family Assn. activities.
The Athens County Historical Society will induct new members of the First Families of Athens County during the day’s activities. Many descendants of the BOBOs who came into Ohio in the late 1700s and early 1800s can qualify for First Families. For more information on requirements, visit the Athens County web site: http://www.frognet.net/~achsm/ffac.html.
There will be no registration fee for currently “dues paid” members of the The BOBO Family Assn. Annual dues are $15 per year for an individual or married couple. For non-members of the Association, the reunion registration fee is $5 per individual or couple to cover reunion expenses.
