John F Waits is my great great grandfather. In 1860 he is in Phelps Co MO census (as a J F Watts) and 1870 Phelps Co census as John F Waits. And he has moved to Springfield MO in 1880. He dies in 1888 and is buried in Maple Park Cemetery in Springfield. Who where his parents and grandparents? Who were is brothers and sisters? Where were he and his wife, Mary Jane Bottorff married and when? I suspect that Thomas Waits who is listed in the 1870 Phelps Co census and in the 1880 census for Dent Co (as Thoas Weight) and in the 1900 census for Crawford Co. (as Thos J Wait) was John F’s brother. Any information on Thomas J Waits also much appreciated.
