Henry R. Hank Reust, 77, rural Huntington County, died at 7:52 a.m. Tuesday (May 2, 2000) at Huntington Memorial Hospital. Mr. Reust was a retired local businessman and owner of Hanks Marathon Service Station on First Street in Huntington. He also worked for the Huntington Solid Waste District for 13 years. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, and American Legion Post 7. He was a United States Army veteran, serving overseas in World War II. He was also a 20-year veteran and a commander of the former Huntington National Guard. He was born May 30, 1922, in Huntington County to Henry and Mary Catherine Ness Reust. Survivors include six brothers, Bernard Reust, Mark Reust, Lee Reust and David Reust, all of Huntington, Thomas Reust, Lancaster, Calif., and Harold Reust, Yoder; two sisters, Alberta Hine, Waynedale, and Mary Catherine Kate Purdy, Fort Wayne. He is also survived by a companion, Evelyn Bowman. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Billie Reust, Edward Reust and Paul Reust. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, with a Rosary service at 6 p.m., at the Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., with Father Ron Rieder officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
