I am looking for information on the origins of the Surname Parmut or for that matter the rare Ukrainian surnames that end in the ut/mut suffix, Bahmut,Marmut,Paramut,Yarmut,Dolgut,Khonut etc. My family Parmut is originally from Pryluky. They are of Jewish Religion but the surname itself is very rare and it's origins are hard to trace. It is so rare that I was able to find my living relatives who still live in Russia. If anyone could shed any light into the ut/mut surnames as well as possibly my own It would be greatly appreciated.
