(b abt 1817) d/o Hugh McKee,(a farmer) & Bridget McLeish, abt 1839. This family went to Lanarkshire, Scotland.
John Hamill was a hard coalminer, and abt May/June 1862 he deserted his family - Application for Poor Relief, Parish of Cambusnethan, Scotland. Children: Bridget age 22/1840 in America, John age 18/1842 miner, Mary age 17/1843 Servant in Port Glasgow, Patrick age 14/1848 Miner, Catherine age 11/1851, James age 9/1853, Hugh age 7/1855, Mary Ann age 3/1859.

Margaret McKee Hamill died age 65 yrs, Chapelhall, Lanarkshire, Scotland. She was listed a widow of John, and never remarried.
