Surnames: Walker, Davis, Holt, Wright, Higgason, Brown, Coles, Taylor
Searching for others who are researching Walkers and Davises in Wilson Co. James D. Walker (1777-1849) md. in 1807 Nancy Davis (ca 1787-1825). They had 8 children: Orrand (md/1 ??, md/2 Evaline Hall/Holt); Elizabeth (md/1 Matthew Brown, md/2 Samuel Higgason); Sarah/Sally (md. Samuel Coles); Marcus (md. Priscilla Davis); Thomas (md. Elizabeth Holt); James (believed killed in the Seminole Wars); Nancy (md/1 Dorman Taylor, md/2 Harvey H. Wright) and Martha (who was apparently retarded and who was the ward of various members of her family during her lifetime).

Nancy Davis was the daughter of Isham and Charlotte ??? Davis. She had 14 brothers and sisters, one of whom was Zachariah Davis who married Elizabeth Hill. Zach and Elizabeth had 10 children, one of whom was Priscilla who married her cousin Marcus M. Walker. The entire Zachariah Davis family moved from Wilson Co. to Barren Co., Kentucky, and then to Benton Co., Missouri.

James D. Walker md/2 in 1829, Celia Louise Hamilton. They had 2 children: Washington B. H. (died unmarried in Civil War) and William C. (md. Kate Vinson).

We have found a great deal of information on the Davis and associated families, but are desperately seeking parents and siblings of James D. Walker. We have been unable to link him up with other Walkers, although we believe he may have had a brother Noah who lived in Wilson Co.

We have been to Wilson Co. several times, but have been unable to locate the graves of any of the Walker family, except Samuel Coles, and a couple of the children of William C. Walker. We feel there must be a family graveyard which has been destroyed or is on one of the estates of the country stars who have moved into Wilson co. Can anyone help with cemetery locations?

The Walkers and Davises lived on Coles Ferry Rd. at the bend in the Cumberland near the old power plant.

Does anyone have any information on this family? We will be glad to share anything we have with other researchers of this family.

Thanks in advance.
