I am researching the Hayes family, thought to be from the townland of Cregg,
parish of Kilfaughnabeg, Co. Cork. Mary Hayes was born on February 2, 1849. She
was the daughter of Cornelius and Margaret (Donovan ?) Hayes. Cornelius was the
brother of Dennis and Timothy and possibly other siblings.

Mary Hayes emigrated about 1866 and settled in Little Falls, NY. She married
John Hooley about 1867-68. They were the parents of Mary, James, Dennis, Margaret,
Lillian, Helen, John (Schenectady, NY), and Francis ( Rockville Center, Long Island).
Mary had a brother, Cornelius from Ilion, NY and a sister, Mrs. P. H. Mahoney, Lynn,
Mass.
