Rosary for Wallace V. McKay, 71, of 1119 Boren Avenue, a retired advertising executive, will be said at 8 o’clock tomorrow evening in Manning & Sons’ Chapel. Requiem Mass will be said at 9 o’clock Wednesday at St. James’ Cathedral, with burial in Holyrood. He died yesterday in a nursing home after a long illness.
Born in Los Angeles, Mr. MacKay came to Seattle in 1905. He attended the old Sacred Heart School and Seattle University. In 1923, he established the Wallace V. MacKay Advertising Co. In 1946, he went into partnership with Gerald Hoeck, Marlow Hartung and his son, Wallace J., who died in March 1965.
After Mr. MacKay retired in 1950 because of ill health, the firm became known as Miller, MacKay, Hoeck & Hartung.
Mr. MacKay was a member of the Fourth Degree, Knights of Columbus; the Holy Name Society; the Artic Club; the Washington Athletic Club and the Seattle Advertising Club.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine S.; three daughters, Dorothy MacKay, Sister M. Ann Geraldine, S.N.J.M. [Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary] and Mrs. A.J. Gianelli, all of Seattle and three sons, Lawrence and Thomas, both of Seattle and John V. McKay, Oak Park, Illinois.
