My grandfather's name was Gerald Dale Farwell, the son of Anne Frances Snyder and Fred Farwell. My genealogy quest has been brought to an abrupt stop on the Farwell side of my family, as Fred, the coward he was, appeared to have ditched my poor great grandmother shortly after Gerald's birth. Are there any leads as to which Fred Farwell he could be among the several Freds I've searched through?

Here's what I do know for sure:
Gerald Dale Farwell was born on December 10th, 1928 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, USA. His mother was Anne Frances Snyder, an unmarried Lithuanian woman born in 1904. Gerald was given the choice later on in his life for his last name between Farwell and Snyder, as his name appeared on his birth certificate as "Gerald Dale Snyder". He chose Farwell. I really have no respect for Fred as I am always going to assume that he had the choice to stay and he decided not to, but I could be shallow in thinking this. Who knows what actually happened, but I am dying to find out, not because I want to know if he was a good person or not, but moreso to help me unravel the mystery of where the Farwells came from.

If ANYONE knows where to look to find a Fred Farwell who resided in Detroit, Michigan BEFORE December 10th, 1928... PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know. Any guidance you can provide would be extremely helpful.
