My grandmother had a photo album (now almost 100 years old), with thick black paper for pages. She glued many photos to the pages, and they are REALLY glued on. I don't want to just pull them off, for fear of damaging the photos; I can't cut them out because they're glued on both sides of the pages.
Any suggestions on how to remove them? I'd like to sort them. Some of the photos are of people not related to me, and I'd like to return those to their descendants. My aunt suggested steaming them off, but I'm worried that would damage a photo, particularly ones that are 80 or 90 years old. I don't know what she used to glue them on.
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
