The 'U.S. and International Marriage Records, 1560-1900' on Ancestry.com indicate that Angelina Parrish married Barnaby Pope. This appears to be incorrect. See the "Source Information" for these records, which state "Original data: This unique collection of records was extracted from a variety of sources including family group sheets and electronic databases. Originally, the information was derived from an array of materials including pedigree charts, family history articles, querie."... What this means is that these marriage records were put together from documents and other items that may be considered unreliable. The application of Harris Masterson to the Texas Society of the SAR was probably the source for this record...
Now, see the Last Will and Testament of John McKennie of Edgecombe, NC. There, he names "Son Barnaby, daus. Mary, Patience and Martha, dau.-in-law Angelina Parish, child in esse, Wife Mary, Connor Cumbo: Wife and Montfort Eulbach Exrs." (Reg. 1—345; Abstract of N. C. Wills, p. 233)...
So, it would appear from this will that Angelina Parrish married Barnaby McKennie (not Barnaby Pope).
