CNEWARK: A funeral service celebrating the life of Carl E. "Pete" Hollar, age 93, of Newark, will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 1 2015 at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral and Cremation Service.
Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery where the Licking County Veterans Alliance will provide military honors.
Mr. Hollar passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015 at his home.

He was born January 22, 1922 in Newark, Ohio to the late Otho and Myrtle (Tarbet) Hollar.
Pete was the owner/operator of O.D. Hollar & Son Plumbing.

He served in the Army during WWII, was a member of the American Legion and VFW.
He was also active with the Newark Kiwanis, Amvets, K of P, Eagles the Ohio State Plumbing Heating and Cooling Contractors Association and F & AM Newark Masonic Lodge #97 where he was a member of the Scottish Rite and Aladdin Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; a son, Charles (Judy) Hollar; a daughter, Cynthia Hollar all of Newark; grandson, Doug Hollar; great-grandson, Dan Hollar; a step-son, Randall (Becky) Van Voorhis of Chillicothe; step-daughter, Deborah Ewing of NC; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchilden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia; a son, David Hollar; and a grandson, Jeff Hollar.
Friends may call on Friday, July 31 from 4-7 p.m. at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral and Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark, where Masonic services will be observed at 7 p.m.
