Am looking for John and Anne OATES and their children Mary b.1815, Anne b.1819 and Edward b.1820. John and Anne are believed to have died prior to the 3 adult children migrating to Australia in Jan 1840. I have been told that there was a John and Ellen living in Elphin prior to 1840 and was wondering if the names Anne and Ellen can sometimes be interchanged? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
