I a 1st cousin 6 times removed to Sir John MacDonald (first Prime Minister of Canada), and have been doing some research on his ancestry. I, however, have hit a road block. Does anyone have any information on his ancestry? The information I already have is:
His father was Hugh Alexander MacDonald (1782-1841), son of John MacDonald (1736-1822), son of Alasdair Norman MacDonald (1716-?), son of Alasdair MacDonald (1680-?), son of John MacDonald (?-?) who was the wife of Margaret Stewart. Any information on the MacDonald line tracing back further or on the ancestry of Margaret Stewart would be appreciated!
