How far back does the Ancestry DNA Test go?

I recently received my Ancestry DNA results, and they are very interesting. They suggested that my aunt is a close relative, so I know it works!

However, I do have a question. Documentary evidence/genealogy suggests that my 11th great grandmother was a Native American from Virginia. However, the Ancestry DNA results found no Native American ancestry (not even a trace).

Is this something that should cause me to re-evaluate this portion of my research, or would a single ancestor even show up in my profile from 11 generations back? My calculation shows that she would only be 0.0122% of my ancestry.
