Peter Dull of Decatur Co Iowa departed his life July 3rd 1871 at his residence. He had been afflicted for some months , but bore it with Christian patience and resignation. The wrter visited him often during his affliction and always found him full of hope of immortality and eternal life. Only about four hours before he closed his eyes in death he sat up and conversed freely of his home in Heaven. In his life he was an example worthy of imitation. He was born July 19th 1812 in Augusta Co Virginia and was converted in 1837 when he joined the Lutheran Church. He emigrated to Western Virgina in 1850. There he joined the Methodist Protestant Church, in which he was a class leader for four years. In 1854 he emigrated to Iowa and there he joined the United Brethren in Christ. In which he was a worhty member untill his death. He leaves a wife and two sons to mourn their loss, together with many other friends.
