I was fortunate to have purchased a bundle of old papers at a local antique market here in Houston Texas. One of the items is a bill receipt from J.W. Atkins to George Sibley. The statement is from Knox Point LA on December 9 1896, from J.W. Atkins, dealer in general merchandise (dry goods, boots, shoes, hats, caps, hardware, furniture, drugs, general plantation supplies, etc). If this is one of your ancestors, please contact me.
