I am looking for the descendants of or family of James Burton Johnson. He was born November 22, 1865 in Watauga County, NC and died September 15, 1941 in Hickory, NC. His parents were Alberton Johnson and Temperance "Tempie" Calloway Aldridge, and he was the youngest of their 7 children. He married Cyntha Francis Andrews in 1885, and had 7 children (Everett Council, Dollie, Bessie, Arabella, Ottis, Pauline, and James Burton Jr).

I are looking for this man's family, because as it turns out, they are my family too. My great grandpa Walter Danner, was born out of wedlock to Amanda Danner and a man named "James Burton Johnson". My great grandpa never talked about his father, and all we ever knew was a name. That is it. So a few years ago, we started digging in the Watauga County census records, and found a man named James Burton Johnson. We strongly thought this was the man we were looking for, but since he already had a wife and family we weren't so sure.

However, we recently had my grandmother take the ancestry.com DNA test in hopes of finding her Johnson roots. Every match that had "Johnson"s in their family tree were somehow related to this man. These matches came through his sisters Mary Ellender and Sarah Jane. Unfortunately, none of the matches descend from James Burton Johnson directly. But because of the multiple matches that descend through his immediate family, we are now confident that this is the James Burton Johnson our family has been wondering about for years! If anyone has any information on this man or his family ,please get in touch with me. I would like to know whatever I can about him. I am also hoping to find a picture of him (I know its a longshot, but a girl can hope!)
