I'm researching my Swedish ancestors, who are focused on the areas where Varmland, Skarborg, Örebro Lans meet. The parish I'm confused about is Finnerödja. And I am asking for a little assistance from you fine folks, if you don't mind.
To me, Finnerödja is clearly in Örebro Lan, from the maps I'm looking at. It borders Skaraborg, so I can see where it might be mistaken for Skaraborg.
When I look at the Swedish records on line here the records show Finnerödja in Skaraborg. However, when you go into the Örebro Lan records Finnerödja shows up also! The birth, marriage, and death records are identical, which clearly shows the early compilers duplicated them. I don't know why.
The time period I'm in is between 1700 and 1760. Was there a boundary change at some time?
So, I guess the question becomes "What do I do? Where do I place my Finnerödja Parish ancestors?"
I greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide.
Thanks,
