We are searching for the parents of our William Kays born in 1782...They may have lived in Washington County Maryland..various spellings of Kays were; Keys/ Keyes/ Case/ Cays/ Kee/ Kayes......Our William was thought to have been born in Kentucky but we have no proof of this....He settled in Benton County Missouri, Lived On Turkey Creek on a plantation there. It was nearWarsaw Missouri....He was married 3xs' to Elizabeth Dickerson...Jane Patterson...and Margaret?...Our William had the following children...William Patterson Kays born 1826.....Letty Kays born 1817.....John R. Kays born 1812...Mary Mildred Kays born 1819...Benjamen Kays born 1810?...Jane Kays no info....Harvey Kays born 1806...Ann Kays born 1808...Logan Kays born 1810.... Susan Kays born 1815....Black Sam Kays born 1821....Elender Kays born 1822...Sarah Kays born 1824...and Nancy Jane Kays born in 1831....Our William Kays thought to be of Scotch/Irirsh descent...It is possible that John Kays who married a Sarah Hull in New Jersey were our Williams parents,...but we have no proof...They had a son named William bornthe same time as our William....But that is all the information we have..But there are many similarities in both family names....We believe that John Kays and Sarahs Hulls parents were from Edinburgh Scotland....Another possibility of parents were a George Case/Keys/Kays who married a Letty(Lettice) Hamilton in York County Pennsylvania...But again we have no proof...Does anyone know anything about any of these people?....Any information would be appreciated as it may provide a clue.....Thank you for your time and effort....May God Bless You in Kind!...Shirley and James Kays of Missouri
