"Nashville Daily American, 1876 A Genealogical Scrapbook" is the latest work by Jonathan K. T. Smith. It is similar to his "Genealogical Tidbits from the Memphis Daily Appeal During the Centennial Year of 1876" (http://www.tngenweb.org/madison/smith/mda76-01.htm).

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to scan/transcribe this work so that it could be placed on the web. You need not know HTML. All you would need to do is type it in Word or another word prosessing program.

I will tell you up front that it will not be easy. There are a number of clippings that will not scan and will have to be retyped. Mr. Smith does not space after punctuation marks and types the old fashioned way using lowercase L for numeral one. Both would have to be cleaned up (search and replace can help).

I would like to have this work online but both myself and my scanning volunteer are backed up on Madison Co. materials and Nashville Christian Advocates (at http://www.tngenweb.org/madison/smith/jktsmith.htm#nca if you have never seen them).

Any way, if you have time, have a scanner, and need a winter project, I would appreciate your help.
