Help me guys I am having a nightmare.
I am descended from the above lady, every single family tree I look at confirms her existence and has provided me with the following information:
Born Ursula Godolphin in 1571 in Cornwall, daughter of Francis Godolphin.
Married circa 1590 to a John Crudge.
Died in 1601 in Gulval, Cornwall.
Several Crudges down the line and here I am!
I can prove the existence of her husband and all of his descendants down to me but I cannot prove her existence, she doesn't seem to be mentioned in any parish record or anywhere I can find.
I have read the will of Sir Francis Godolphin who died 1608 (reportedly her father) and it states that he "leaves to his daughter Ursula's son John the sum of..." as she had already passed away in childbirth by the time Francis died.
Has anyone else done any research on the GODOLPHIN/CRUDGE families? Has anyone got anything they can show me to confirm her existence? I would love this link to be true given the rich heritage.
