I am searching for parents of Marquis/Marcus HULL and Wife Elizabeth MILLAGE [SMITH] HULL. Marquis was born Feb. 14, 1827 in Licking Co. Ohio. Elizabeth was born August 1, 1826.
Marquis and Elizabeth were married August 25, 1848 in Lee Co. Iowa, by James MOORE, Minister of the Gospel. They had 5 children; [1.] Sarah, born March 16, 1850. She Married John M. CARROLL. [2.] Sidney, born Feb. 9, 1852.
He died Dec. 12,1857. [3.] Elizabeth, born Oct. 2, 1853. She married Rufus COFFEE. [4.] Mary Emma, born Aug. 28, 1854. She died Sept. 4, 1857. [5.] Nancy, [My grandmother] born, Aug. 8, 1857. Nancy HULL married Henry Washington CARROLL, brother of John M. CARROLL who married Sarah HULL. Marquis served in the 99th Illinois Infantry. He served as a cook. He sufferred a prolapse of the rectum by carrying wounded men
off the field. Marquis HULL Died Aug. 21, 1889. Elizabeth filed for her pension over a period of 10 years, and never received it. She died Sept. 23, 1899.
