My grandfather Hebert Milnes had an affair 1940's with a lady serving in the forces, while he was stationed at Gosport (police or MP) - he was transferred in 1944 to RAF Benbecula Island (Outer Hebrides) when his wife found out that he had had a child down in Gosport - dont now gender of child or if the name Milnes was taken or simply the mother's surname - if the story rings any bells in your family history please contact me - the four children of Herbert would like to know.
Hebert died 1983.
