William George alias Leaman was tried at Exeter City Sessions on 29 June 1840, crime - larceny. He was convicted and sentenced to transportation for 7 years. It states he was 12 years old. I believe he may be the son of Maria Leaman. She later married James George.
It's just a hunch he could be my ancestor - a very long shot.
I cannot find him arriving anywhere. Can anyone assist with Devon records as to what happened to this 12 year old boy after 29 June 1840.
Many thanks,
Irene
