I recently heard a family tale that an ancestor of mine was a Huguenot who left France by boat & arrived in Dawlish. Where she met a Welsh sailor who was known as the "Flower of Glen Gower". The tale goes that he was very tall, very handsome, and so strong that he could move a sailing ship with his shoulder. They married & settled in South Wales.

Has anyone ever heard of this man in local legends?
