I have an old album that once belonged to Charles Linn Babcock, a telegraph operator in Madison, Madison county, NY. One photo is dated 1887. It contains 2 tintypes, 2 small cabinet cards and 22 larger cabinet type cards. I have identified a number of them, but most of the identified ones are not within the Babcock family. Their names are .Hiram Wells, Evelyn Mayme Hardy. Joseph Miller, Emma Howard and Wallace Chubbuck. I am assuming that they are all from the Madison area and were friends with the family. On the back of one of the photos is the imprint of CL Babcock...I am assuming he may have also worked with the photographer at some point. . I have also identified Edith Isbell Phelps and Charles Linn Babcock and his wife Evelyn Phelps so far. Some were taken at the GH DeWitt studio in Madison NY ... some other were taken in Utica NY. I would like to share these photos in hopes that that they can be identified...all of them are in great shape.

Other family names in this line are Phelps, Hitchcock, Duell, Durfee Tucker, Greer or Geer and Knapp
