Moses Clinton PHILLIPS was born 13 Aug 1811 in Georgia. Married #2 Catharine BRACKEN 26 Jan 1839 in Tuscaloosa Co, Alabama. The Phillips family lived in Ouachita Co, Arkansas in 1850; Hempstead Co, Arkansas in 1860, Milam County, Texas 1870, Brown County, Texas in 1880 and in Stephens County, Texas by 1893 when he purchased land.

Moses died 24 Nov 1907 - Eolian, Stephens County, Tx and is buried at the Plum Branch Cemetery NW of Eolian.

His son, John D PHILLIPS, continued to live on the land after Moses' death - and then his grandson after the death of his son.

When the land was sold in 1947 - the document named all of the children:
