Jane SAFFIN had an illegimate daughter Ada Rosa in 1871. In 1881 she is living with her widowed father John Saffin, her daughter and another grandchild. She is listed as being John's housekeeper. In the 1891 census she is listed as a charwoman living on her own in Langley Marsh, Wiveliscombe. In the 1901 and 1911 census she is listed as a lunatic in the Somerset & Bath Lunatic Asylum, Cotford, Bishops Lydeard, Somerset. How can I find out when and why she was admitted to the Asylum. As I live in Australia I cannot get to the Somerset Archives. Is there any other way to find this information. Jane Saffin would be by 2nd great aunt and I am curious as to what happened to her.
