Help with William Yates

Surnames: Yates, Tisor
My expertise with this sort of thing Ohio is very small, so I'm hoping to get some advice.

I've hit a roadblock with William Edward Yates born about 1871 in Virginia and died 1957 in Miami, Ohio. I do not have an exact date of death. He is supposedly buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. He married Eunice Edith ("Editha") Tisor in 1898 in Miami, Ohio. I have the certificate number, but not a copy of the certificate. He lived in Pleasant Hill village in 1900, Newton in 1910, and Adams in Darke County in 1920. Editha died on the 22nd April 1917 in Adams. I haven't been able to locate him on the 1930 census.

Can anyone suggest some Miami or Ohio-specific strategies that will hopefully lead me to the names of his parents? There are some possible matches in VA in 1880, but due to the fairly common name, I can't be sure, I assumed the marriage cert would be no help. What about a death certificate from 1957? Anything else I'm missing?

Thanks in advance for your help!
