I am searching for the death date of James OBrien, he was born in Carrick on Suir, Tipperary. He came to Australia, date not known, married Catherine Lee in Toowoomba in 1872.
His parents were John OBrien and Mary G Geoghegan, not known if they came to Australia.
I have had a search done by BDM for the years 1920-1940 which yielded nothing.
We know he was still alive in Feb 1913. However when his son, Martin, enlisted in the AIF, Martins mother wrote to the army re the whereabouts of Martin and she said any information would greatly relieve her mind.. no mention of relieving her husbands mind, ie Martin's father. So I have to wonder if he was alive when she wrote this letter in Aug 1916.
I have searched the QLD BDM but cannot find a death to fit.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
