Surnames: Hendricks
There is a Dennis Hendricks that was 1/2 Cherokee in AR. I have often wondered if my Hendricks tie into his line somehow. Franklin D. Hendricks had those features Dennis and his family had. And, I believe some of his elder Hendricks ancestors were in NC.

My mother looked just like a little Indian child when younger. She was always told by her Hendricks family that they were Indian and that is was Cherokee. Some thought Black-foot. She search for records as an adult on the family, but was not able to find any in Austin, TX. She has since then passed away. The only child living from our Hendricks family with parents Franklin D. and Maybelle Latham (his second wife) is Barbara Hendricks. She is 86. She looks just like her father did. Tall, pretty cheek bones and lovely skin. Although she is older now, she is still a very lovely lady. My Hendricks had curly blonde hair too not just the darker straight hair. It is almost comical when you see pictures. One black headed, "pocahontas" looking child with dark skin (my grandmother) and then 2 blondes with a massive amount of curly hair and one with blue eyes. Blue eyes and dark eyes both run in the family. My grandmother had one blonde child, two black headed children and one brownish red-head child!
