WEATHERFORD - Services for Monroe Herbert Jatzlau, 67, of Weatherford were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fedor with Rev. Leif Hasskarl officiating. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Mr. Jatzlau died Thursday, Sept. 20, in Weatherford.
He was born Nov. 2, 1939, in Nacogdoches to Herbert and Minnie (Urban) Jatzlau.
A resident of Weatherford for the past 11 years, he previously lived in the Lexington-Fedor area and a number of places along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast.
Mr. Jatzlau was a petroleum engineer for 20 years and also worked for the Lee County sheriff’s office.
He was a graduate of Louisiana State University and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fedor.
Mr. Jatzlau was a U.S. Army veteran and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors are a son, Mark Jatzlau of Fedor; two daughters, Kathy Hanks of Lake Charles, LA, and Debbie Hopkins and husband Robert of Weatherford; and a grandson, Stephen Hanks.
Pallbearers include Mark Jatzlau, Robert Hopkins, Wiltz Hanks, Todd Church, Alan Shuffield and William Dowdy.
