according to verbal Family history I have John Steel McLean Son of John mclean and Mary Steele.
John is the son of "Earl of Berkley" Mclean
I have heard of a ruin in Scotland that was called Berkely (pronounced Bark ely) Manner. it is across the channel from the Isle of Mull. most likely destroyed after the jacobite rebellion.
now here is the question? can anyone provide info about this place and the last residents? If someone could take a picture I would be very grateful.
