GLENN, Herman Wallace age 82, of Springfield, OHIO, departed this life on July 14, 2013 after a lengthy illness since 2009.
He was born May 5, 1931 in Winston Salem, NC to Eugene and Cora (Hayslip) Glenn.
He was retired from General Motors after 30 years of service as a tool inspector.
He was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he was consistently active on the Usher Board until his failing health.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Loraine (Powers) Glenn of Springfield, OH; three daughters, Debby Glenn of Springfield, OH, Joy (Daryl) Wortham of Newnan, GA, and Melissa (Kriss) Dover of Columbus, OH; two sons, Michael (Cindy) Glenn of Davis, CA and Steven (Teresa) Glenn of Sacramento, CA; a brother Ernest Glenn of Springfield, OH and a sister, Elizabeth (Matthew) Douglas of Dallas, TX; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great- grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom will miss his bright engaging smile and booming voice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters Geneva Rogers, Gertrude White, Evelyn Glenn, Delphia James; 3 brothers, Howard Glenn, Dallas Glenn, and Clarence Glenn.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday, July 19, 2013 for the Celebration of the life of Herman Wallace at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1171 South Yellow Springs Street, Springfield, OH, with visitation at 11:00AM and the service to follow at 12:00PM.
Pastor Darryl Grayson will preside over the service.
Burial will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, SPRINGFIELD, OHIO.
