Rev. John Bradbury and his son, Jonathan, appear in the Sussex, NJ Federal 1850 Census (John's name being erroneously spelled Bradberry). Trying to find origin of John's grandfather, John, who was b. Oct. 1, 1742 probably in England, died June 24, 1822; married Elizabeth Tory 9 Nov. 1769 and had 13 children: Cyrus, Moses, Hannah, Cyrus II, Hannah II, Phebe, Susannah, James, Elizabeth, Joan, Mary, Moses II, Mary II. His son James married Elizabeth McPeek on 12 May, 1811 and was the father of the John Bradbury who appears in the 1850 NJ Census.
Have tried to connect to some Bradbury lines from England, but not successful as yet. We don't know whether the elder John came to America, nor where he was located in (prob.) England. The family record of the elder John Bradbury was copied from his own handwriting found in his old family Bible which was printed in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1762. If you have any information on this line of Bradburys, please contact me.
