My grandfather was adopted in Nebraska around 1875 by a family who lived in Arlington, Washington, Nebraska. The name of the adoptive parents were William J. & Mary Ann Crane. My Grandfather's adopted name was also William H. Crane (b. 13 Oct 1873) but I found out his last name at birth was Ackerman. Any information concerning the Crane family or the Ackerman family would really be appreciated.
