I have a transcribed copy of a family Bible. I think it's a WELDON Family Bible, but it does have a line of COWLINGs. There is a Richard COWLING bapt. 1765 married 1796 to a Mary PARNALL bapt. 1773. Mary's folks Thomas PARNALL and Elizabeth ?, Richard's folks are Richard COWLING bapt. 1745 married to Elizabeth YELLAND bapt. 1735-1796(died). This Richard's folks are Richard COWLING married to Jane ?. At the bottom are some notes: Rich. COWLING was at Plymouth S??? 1789 - England-saw King Geo III board the Admirals ship; the others are had to read.
If any of this 'rings a bell' please contact me. I can give you what I have, but it isn't much. A WELDON thought enough of one of the Richard COWLINGs to name a son after him, and there has now been 3-4 Richard COWLING WELDONs.
